Get Cleansed - The 411 On Cleansing Waters

If you're a part of the internet, which I'm assuming you are if you're reading this, you've probably seen a thing or two about micellar cleansing water.

Micellar water sparked a worldwide craze a few years ago now when Bioderma's Sensibio H2O Micellar Water hit the shelves and sent beauty lovers into hysterics. This holy water retailed for about $40 a bottle (yes, for water) but was still flying off the shelves faster than you could pronounce its name. Why, you ask? This stuff was lifechanging.

Bioderma changed the game forever when they released their magical micellar water that could take off even waterproof mascara. Since then, every cosmetics company (and their dog) have released their own micellar water, with some proving as good as the original and others doing the same job as the stuff that comes out of your shower. Luckily for you, I've got the lowdown on these mysterious cleansing waters so you don't spend all your hard earned cash on a dud.

Why water?
Micellar water has a butt-load of cosmetic benefits and writing this article has shown me even more. The microscopic micelle particles in this fancy water are the major selling point for the product, as they have the power to lift out dirt, oils, makeup and other impurities without the harsh chemicals often found in cleansers. Pretty nifty, huh? Here are the other great benefits of this one-step wonder:
- it takes off your makeup
- it hydrates skin
- it cleanses and nourishes the face
- it's perfect for sensitive skin
- it's easy to travel with

Which water?
With so many products out there it's hard to know which water is a wonder and which is a waste. Some of my favourites include:
Bioderma Sensibio H2O - $39.95 Obviously this is the product that sparked the revolution so it must be pretty great. While I love the Bioderma product, I just can't justify spending $40 on a product that's nearly identical to the other waters on the market.

Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water $13.99 - This is another product that changed the game. With an almost identical result for a much more affordable price tag, Garnier are now one of the leaders in the micellar water game. This is the product I swear by.

Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Water $9.99 - Simple have done a pretty great job of duplicating the Bioderma water too, this is another great alternative to the original.

  2. I have seen Micellar water before, but never spent anytime trying to determine what is was. Thanks to your post I'll be picking some up when I'm out next!
